Animoon Sp. z o.o. is a dynamically growing company in the film industry, specializing in producing animations for TV series and short- and feature-length films. The company builds animated brands by combining creativity with the latest technologies, enabling the creation of original content for a wide audience.
A key aspect of the company's operations is delivering unique content to young viewers while ensuring convenience and safety for their parents.
Project goal
The project aimed to comprehensively upgrade the technology frameworks used (Angular, Node.js, Unity3D), adapt the Momli application to current technological standards, and expand its functionality in response to user needs. The main objective was to create a user-friendly, child- and parent-safe tool that allows app usage regardless of internet connection quality.
Additionally, the application has an educational and entertainment character, offering the highest quality multimedia content for young children. The implemented solution also enables collaboration with other animation producers, providing them with a new distribution channel to attract new audiences.
Challenges
The project required overcoming numerous challenges, including:
- Migrating the application to newer versions of frameworks, particularly in Unity3D, where it was necessary to adapt functionalities and technological solutions to the updated environment.
- Conducting an in-depth analysis of the code and dependencies due to the lack of technical documentation for existing functionalities.
- Adapting the application to various devices and different internet connection conditions, which was particularly important for ensuring smooth app operation.
Solution
To achieve the project objectives, we:
- Conducted a comprehensive update of the technology frameworks, ensuring stability and long-term technical support.
- Implemented a video conversion mechanism that reduced storage costs and improved playback smoothness.
- Introduced new functionalities, such as restricting access to purchased videos for 30 days and adding a transaction ID that records every operation.
- Prepared the application for publication in the Google Play and App Store.
